A brief description of the metering system:
The electric utility for the Marion campus has a single meter for all buildings and is read by Ohio Edison. As mentioned before there are electric sub-meters in all buildings that feed hourly electric usage data into the Siemens Building Automation system where it is stored. There are individual natural gas meters at all campus buildings that are maintained and read monthly by Columbia Gas of Ohio. The same is true for domestic water. Each campus building has a water meter that read and maintained by Aqua Water Company. The seven campus buildings share the utilities cost through a joint operating agreement between OSU Marion and Marion Technical College. All utilities are invoiced and paid by The Ohio State University at Marion and Marion Technical College pays a quarterly invoice generated by the OSU Marion.
