A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome :

The Marion Campus shared by The Ohio State University at Marion and Marion Technical College is co-located on 187 acres east of Marion, Ohio and west of SR-23. The two institutions have distinct missions and share all campus building and grounds through a joint operating agreement. OSU Marion and Marion Technical College share the expenses for utilities, housekeeping services, library services, maintenance, student activities, and public safety. The cost-share formulas for the Marion Campus are based on FTE for “on campus” students, both full and part time. This collaborative arrangement between the two institutions increases campus efficiencies.

The Marion Campus Framework Plan is a comprehensive, yet flexible plan, which describes the objectives for the campus growth and sustainability. The plan was a collaborative effort with a team of faculty and staff from The Ohio State University at Marion and Marion Technical College. Completed in 2013 the plan will continue to improve campus efficiencies and sustainability in the use of the physical resources and explore additional programmatic collaborations between the two institutions for the next fifty years.
