Does the institution have a guide for commuters about how to use alternative methods of transportation?:
Yes

A brief description of the guide for commuters about how to use alternative methods of transportation:

Yes, we do have a commuter guide. As for bus passes, we do have a discount—60 cents per ride on Marion Area Transit for students, vs. $1.00 normally. I’m not really sure how it is disseminated. I do know the developer who is developing student housing downtown, Lois Fisher, is telling her tenants about it when they sign up for a room in her student housing project.

We also have just negotiated a YMCA discount for students--$85 per semester vs. $35/month for regular patrons. That is communicated through Buckeye Briefs (our on-campus e-mail news service).

Students, faculty, and staff have a significant influence on sustainable practices at Ohio State through everyday activities in the office, education in the classroom, and attitudes everywhere. The Green Buckeye Certification aims at recognizing offices, departments, and faculty who incorporate sustainability into their actions. In addition, the Green Buckeye Certification creates a roadmap for those wanting to reduce, conserve, and become more efficient.

The Certification touches upon areas such as communication and education, energy efficiency and conservation, recycling and waste reduction, water conservation, and purchasing. In order to become certified, 75 percent of the actions on the application must be accomplished for 75 percent of the colleagues in the office or department. Individuals can also become certified.
