A brief description of how the institution ensures compliance with green building design and construction guidelines and policies:
Energy efficiency and conservation guidelines have been established for state institutions of higher education in response to ORC Sec. 3345.69. The university proposed a 15-year strategic energy plan to comply with these guidelines. The plan provides a five percent increase in construction costs and applicable fees to ensure energy efficient design and compliance with the Green Build and Energy policy requirements. The plan will request resources to conduct energy audits and implement energy conservation measures. The overall goal is a 20 percent reduction in energy consumption, using fiscal year 2004 as the baseline.
