The university conducted a comprehensive campus climate assessment. The
university engaged two external teams of quantitative and qualitative
consultants to conduct the assessment and to present a final synthesized
report. A Campus Climate Assessment Task Force, comprised of students,
staff and faculty served as the leadership body who led the assessment with
the consultants. The consultants provided recommendations, the
university’s Task Force reviewed the data and recommendations to create
recommendations that were authentic and specific to The New School for
effective implementation.

The university’s Campus Climate Assessment Task Force, comprised of
students, staff and faculty led the process. They took account of the
consultants recommendations and developed a list of 10 recommendations
in four priority areas that include: Student success and engagement, (2)
Leadership and accountability, (3) Pedagogy and Curriculum, and (4) Staff
and faulty hiring, retention and advancement. The Board of Trustees passed
a resolution in support of the campus climate assessment recommendations.
