Mike Harrington of the Tishman Environment and Design Center was a co-author of policy recommendations for the NYC Mayor's Office of Resiliency through the Urban Design Forum's Turning the Heat program. The report lays out specific policy recommendations to deal with the environmental justice issue of urban heat in NYC. https://urbandesignforum.org/publications/turning-the-heat-resiliency-in-new-york-citys-heat-vulnerable-neighborhoods/. University professor and former dean of Parsons, the largest school in the university and current dean of the School of Constructed Environments have promoted this work as well.
