Does the institution offer housing options to accomodate the special needs of transgender and transitioning students (either as a matter of policy or as standard practice)?:
Yes
None
A brief description of the program, policy, or practice:
As a matter of practice, The New School Office of Student Housing always strives to accommodate all students, including transgender and transitioning students. A student who wants a safe space to live on campus is given priority to live in a single (studio style) room at the 13th Street Residence. If two or more students come forward who express wanting a shared space, and one or more of them is a transgender and/or transitioning student, the department will work with them to identify a space that will accommodate their needs and allow them to room together.
