A brief description of the garden:
The New School opened a student-run organic garden in April 2011 on the outdoor terrace of the 20th Street Residence Hall. Students grows vegetables and compost all green waste. The garden is maintained by Resident Assistants and supervised by Housing and Facilities staff. This garden is an expansion of an older decorative garden.
Another rooftop garden is located on an academic building and offers students gardening experience with supervised access. The garden is planted and used by students and faculty from a course on urban dyeing, as well as a new gardening club, and includes a rainwater harvesting system.
