The Catholic University Investment Policy Statement provides the guiding principles for the Catholic University of America and sets forth policies and procedures that shall guide the Board of Trustees (the “Trustees”) and any of its delegates in supervising, implementing, evaluating and monitoring the investment of its financial assets to optimize returns within appropriate risk parameters. As part of the Policy Statement, the Trustees require that all Partners adhere to the University’s prohibition of investments in companies that are substantially engaged in activities inconsistent with the teachings of the Catholic Church and outlined in the US Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) Socially Responsible Investment Guidelines.
One of the five USCCB Socially Responsible Investment Guidelines is Saving Our Global Home focused on mitigating climate change, protecting biodiversity, protecting and conserving water and natural resources, and upholding environmental standards, among others.
