kWh MMBtu
Imported electricity from certified/verified clean and renewable sources (i.e., bundled green power purchases) 0 Kilowatt-hours 0 MMBtu
Electricity from on-site, clean and renewable sources (rights retained/retired) 5,930,520 Kilowatt-hours 20,234.93 MMBtu

A brief description of the certified/verified sources of clean and renewable electricity:
The University does not have any off-site PPAs.

A brief description of the on-site renewable electricity generating facilities/devices:
Catholic University of America has a total of 2,600 solar panels on Aquinas Hall, Flather Hall, Gibbons Hall, Pangborn Hall, the Raymond A. DuFour Athletic Center, the Grounds and Maintenance Building, and O’Boyle Parking Lot. Catholic U has one of the largest solar installations in the District of Columbia with 677 kW of installed capacity.

A brief description of the unbundled renewable energy products:
The Catholic University of America offsets 100% of its energy usage through the purchase of renewable energy credits (RECs).The RECs are sourced from wind energy. In June 2018, the University entered into a 54-month contract to offset 100% it's electrical use for that time period. The University purchased 172,418 MWh of RECs to cover this time period. When spread out annually, the average comes to 38,315,111 KwH.

Metrics used in scoring

Total clean and renewable energy generated or purchased:
150,966.09 MMBtu

Percentage of total energy consumption from clean and renewable sources:
80.40
