Recyclemania

A brief description of the campaign:
Various events during an eight week period to engage students, faculty, and staff. We have several opportunities during the competition to bring recyclables in exchange for a t-shirts. We participate in a Game Challenge to collect recycling during and after a basketball game. We use student volunteers from student organizations to help collect the recycling and man an information table. We also have a departmental competition to encourage recycling among the staff and educators. In addition we sponsor an art contest. The entries must consist of 75% repurposed/recyclabale materials.

A brief description of the measured positive impact(s) of the campaign:
The positive impact is measured by the number of bags we collect during the t-shirt give away events and weights of materials collected at the basketball game and departmental competition. We also consider it a positive impact when we are able to involve new groups and individuals who compete or volunteer to help with events.

Crush Em Tech

A brief description of the campaign (2nd campaign):
Crush Em Tech is a campaign that incentives students, faculty, and staff to recycle plastic bottles in exchange for a Crush Em Tech t-shirt and reusable cups/bottles. The event is put on by Hospitality Services, University Student Housing, and The Office of Sustainability. The event has taken place since 2011.

A brief description of the measured positive impact(s) of the campaign (2nd campaign):
Crush Em Tech contributes greatly to our yearly recycling of over 780 pounds of product that would've otherwise ended up in landfills. It also helps bring awareness to sustainable campus practices.
