All faculty, staff, and graduate student employees in a benefits-eligible position are eligible to use Bobcat Balance, the work-life and employee assistance program. Bobcat Balance offers referrals to see a counselor or an attorney, and resources to help find child care, elder care, financial counseling, and daily living needs. WellCats, the employee wellness program, is a comprehensive program designed to help employees improve their overall health and well-being. WellCats offers a variety of services; group training classes, one-on-one nutrition consultation, health behavior change coaching, one-on-one fitness testing and feedback, lunch and learn workshops, hands on cooking classes, and more.

Texas State University is committed to maintaining healthy and safe campuses in San Marcos and in Round Rock.

The primary purpose of this policy is to establish university guidelines prohibiting smoking and the use of all tobacco products at the Texas State campuses in San Marcos and in Round Rock. Tobacco products include all types of tobacco, cigarettes, cigars, smokeless tobacco, electronic cigarettes, vaporizers, pipes, and hookahs.

The university expects all faculty, staff, students, employees of contractors and subcontractors, and visitors to comply with this policy’s spirit and intent.
