The Division of inclusive Excellence offers a variety of programs for students, faculty, and staff at Texas State University. Each are opportunities to expand awareness and engage in meaningful dialogue centered on diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA). IE-Student Initiative’s programs are rooted in social justice, intersectionality, anti-oppression, and asset-minded to assist in the development of students’ skills and competencies. Inclusive Excellence - Faculty and Staff Initiatives is committed to enriching Texas State’s learning and working environments by attracting and supporting a diverse faculty, staff and student body in which each person is valued equally and celebrated for their contributions. Also under the Division of Inclusive Excellence are Councils, Committees and Teams like the Affirmative Action Work Group, Council for Inclusive Excellence, DEIA Communication Network, HSI Community Council, Information Technology Team, Website Technology Team, LGBTQIA Advisor Board and Resource Networks, and the Veterans Advisory Council.

A brief description of the institution’s cultural competence, anti-oppression, anti-racism, and/or social inclusion trainings and activities:

Bobcat JEDI (Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion) Program: This program offers faculty and staff the opportunity to build competencies that will support a more inclusive environment at Texas State. The J.E.D.I. Program includes courses related to diversity, inclusion, multiculturalism, ability, social justice, and equity. Participants are able to participate in courses that are offered throughout the year and online.

Equality Univerity: Equality U is a diversity and inclusion conference that brings individuals together to participate in a day of dialogue and features national speakers. Provides opportunity to engage in authentic peer connections, explore and understand how identities impact individual relationships, groups and social dynamics, and prepare for success in a global society.

Allies at Texas State Student Training: At the end of the training, individuals have the option of signing a contract required to become an Ally. Those who sign the contract will receive an Ally of Texas State placard and/or pin that can be picked up in Institutional Inclusive Excellence. These items symbolize understanding, support, and trust. They also signify a "safe place" which is a location and environment where LGBTQIA+ individuals can speak in confidence and receive help, advice and support.

Cultural Celebrations: Institutional Inclusive Excellence provides several celebrations in recognition and honor of various historical events, heritages, people, and movements in the advancement of social justice, civil rights, equity, and inclusion. These are opportunities to learn about the history and legacy of civil rights movements and leaders who advocated and made possible the freedoms and human rights we have today.

Queer Collegiate Summit: a A program specifically for LGBTQiA+ and Ally Students. The focus of this program is to encourage personal development and celebration in areas of involvement, community, academics, social justice, and activism.

Womxn of Color Program: provides a space for women to build community, develop skills and explore the complexities of their multiple marginalized identities. This culminating experience typically features activities, dialogue, fellowship, speakers, small group facilitated discussion, yoga, meditation and journaling.
