-----Environment and Sustainability Faculty Senate Committee- works to increase communication and create synergy around environmental and sustainability efforts of administrators, staff, faculty, and students by monitoring, coordinating and communicating with departments and relevant committees and student organizations. Its goals are to promote and publicize best practices, increase sustainability across the university, and strengthen Texas State's stewardship of our environment. -----Environmental Service Committee- is an on-campus committee made up of members from the campus community, faculty, staff, and students who use the $1 Environmental Service Fee that all university students pay each semester to fund environmental and sustainability focused projects to help improve sustainable development, environmental conservation, and education. ------Ethics, Diversity, and Sustainability Committee- evaluates business leadership, ethics, diversity and sustainability coverage in the college and develops recommendations for enhancement. It works with the Undergraduate Curriculum and Graduate Policies Committees to ensure adequate coverage of concepts related to ethics, diversity, and sustainability concepts in the curriculum. At least annually, this committee initiates a program to educate and enhance awareness of ethics, diversity and sustainability issues for students and faculty. -----Campus Lighting Committee- perform a nighttime survey of exterior lighting levels across campus, verifying current information, and collecting information for new buildings annually during the spring semester. Make recommendations where lighting levels need improvement to the Associate Vice President for Finance and Support Services Planning for review and implementation. -----Energy Conservation Committee- proposes methods of conserving energy and generates public support and cooperation for energy conservation efforts. -----Environmental Health and Safety Committee- focuses on occupational, physical, health and environmental safety and risk management. The mission of the Office of Sustainability is to engage the Texas State community as a champion for environmental stewardship and social responsibility while fostering a culture of sustainability that permeates all aspects of the campus experience. The Office of Sustainability collaborates with stakeholders across the university to facilitate the integration of sustainability principles and practices into operations, academics, research, student engagement, and administration.

Fall 2019
Fall into Sustainability: The Office hosted a game night event for students to learn how to adopt sustainable practices in college by utilizing various resources provided by the university.
River Clean Up: The Office led a group of Bobcat volunteers in removing litter from the San Marcos River.
Social Media: Revitalization of Office Twitter and Instagram accounts occurred for better outreach and recruitment.

Spring 2020- Spring 2021
Virtual Workshops: The Office begins publishing a series of online sustainability workshops as an educational outreach campaign after the onslaught of the COVID-19 pandemic. Workshops cover topics of upcycling, biodiversity, and more and are created by the Office’s Educational Outreach Intern.
River Clean Up: The Office led a group of Bobcat volunteers in removing litter from the San Marcos River

Fall 2021
How to Be A Sustainable Bobcat: The Office hosted an educational workshop during Bobcat Welcome Week for incoming freshmen.
Fall into Sustainability: The Office hosted a game night event for students to learn how to adopt sustainable practices in college by utilizing various resources provided by the university.
Lights Out Bobcats: The Office assisted graduate research and energy conservation by turning off lights in campus buildings and documenting the type/number of lights left on.

Spring 2022
Great Texas River Clean Up: The Office led a group of Bobcat volunteers in cleaning an assigned area of the San Marcos river watershed, participating in the world’s longest river clean up.
Spring into Sustainability: The Office hosted a game night event for students to learn how to adopt sustainable practices in college by utilizing various resources provided by the university.
Sustainable Valentine’s Day: The Office hosted a workshop dedicated to upcycling materials into Valentine’s Day cards.
Open Closet: The Office conducted a clothing donation drive then gave away clothes to students in a gender-inclusive free thrift market in the LBJ Student Center. There was also a panel of LGBTQ+ students and TXST leaders discussing issues of gender expression and social equity.
Earth Day Festival: The Office partnered with the Meadows Center for Water and the Environment for an Earth Day Festival at Spring Lake Natural Area which included local environmental organizations, small businesses, and student organizations.
Bobcat Build: The Office led a group of volunteers in participating in TXST’s biggest community service day.
Blackland Pocket Prairie: A portion of campus was re-landscaped with native grass and wildflower species to promote biodiversity and raise awareness about a disappearing Texas ecoregion.
