A brief description of the student educators program (1st program):

Sustainability Squad is a student organization sponsored and led by the TXST Office of Sustainability, intended to educate students on sustainable lifestyle practices and resources available to them on campus, as well as provide opportunities for sustainable community service in the campus and city setting.

The target audience of Sustainability Squad is largely underclassmen new to the university and its various environmental science and sustainability-related degrees.

Bobcat Blend Master Composter Program

A brief description of the student educators program (2nd program):

Bobcat Blend is a faculty managed, student-run and grant-supported research and teaching-oriented waste management campus composting program at Texas State University. The goals of the organization are to teach students, faculty and staff through daily operations and development of habits the environmental, economic, and intrinsic values of composting, in the cafeterias and in the classrooms, labs and landscapes on campus.

The target audience of Bobcat Blend are students faculty and staff interested in learning about the environmental, economic, and intrinsic values of composting, in the cafeterias and in the classrooms, labs and landscapes on campus. This largely includes students from environmental science and natural resource conservation majors.

The Office of Sustainability hires student interns in Community Involvement, Public Relations, Educational Outreach, and Research to assist the Office in daily operations and educate the student body on issues of social, economic, and ecological sustainability.

As an official University department, the Office of Sustainability gears educational programs, workshops, activities, and more towards the general student population.
