A brief description of how sustainability is included in new employee orientation:
Sustainability Efforts in Onboarding Events at Texas A&M University
At Texas A&M University, we are committed to integrating sustainability into all aspects of our operations, including the onboarding process for new hires. Our efforts in this area are designed to ensure that new employees are aware of and engaged with our sustainability initiatives from the very beginning of their tenure.
Orientation Program:
- Participation: 100% of new hires are offered an orientation program that includes a general overview of the university’s sustainability goals and practices.
- Sustainability Flyer: During orientation, each new hire receives a flyer from the Sustainability Office. This flyer provides essential information about our sustainability initiatives, resources available on campus, and ways employees can contribute to our sustainability goals.
- Recycling Containers: To promote waste reduction and recycling, we have strategically placed recycling containers throughout the orientation venues. This encourages new hires to start practicing sustainable habits from day one.
These efforts are part of our broader commitment to fostering a culture of sustainability at Texas A&M University. By embedding sustainability into our onboarding process, we aim to inspire new employees to actively participate in our sustainability initiatives and contribute to our goal of creating a more sustainable campus.
