Before using undeveloped lands the University has a Phase I and Threatened and Endangered Species Assessment conducted.
A brief description of the scope of the assessment(s):
A Phase I Environmental Site Assessment, is completed to research the current and historical uses of a property as part of a commercial real estate transaction. The intent of the report is to assess if current or historical property uses have impacted the soil or groundwater beneath the property and could pose a threat to the environment and/or human health.
A brief description of the plans or programs in place to protect or positively affect identified species, habitats, and/or ecosystems:
Environmental Health and Safety reviews all construction plans, inspects all construction sites to ensure each contractor is adhering to their stormwater management and spill prevention, control and contermeasure plans and keeping the areas free of trash and illicit discharges.
