A brief description of the sustainable operations and maintenance policy/program and/or O+M rating system(s) used:

TAMU’s 2017 Campus Master Plan addresses sustainability in concert with the 2018 Sustainability Master Plan, biennial updates, and STARS reports. While much of the content related to sustainability is discussed in Chapter 5, sustainability content appears in the other chapters as well. Green tags appear on the introduction pages of each chapter (as applicable) to highlight sustainability information, strategies, and operations.

The Campus Master Plan can be found at:
https://campusplan.tamu.edu/

A PDF version can be found here:

The 2018 Sustainability Master Plan can be found at:
http://sustainability.tamu.edu/documents.aspx

It was determined that 100% of campus building spaces have multi-attribute operation and maintenance since all have indoor air quality, energy management, and water management policies in place. Based on a percent of impact ranking, the green cleaning policy of campus building spaces, 80%, was not considered to have an impact on the overall sustainability of the spaces.

*Note: Campus buildings are cleaned by an outside contractor, not TAMU, like the IAQ, energy and water management policies.

Specific sustainable operations include:

100% of building space is maintained in accordance with a published indoor air quality (IAQ) management policy or protocol. To learn more visit: https://ehs.tamu.edu/programs/indoor-air-quality/

80% of floor area is maintained in accordance with a published green cleaning policy.
To learn more about the methods used to clean buildings across campus, visit https://facilities.tamu.edu/custodial/ and download the SSC Green Cleaning Methods document.

100% of floor area is maintained in accordance with an energy management or benchmarking program and 100% of floor area is maintained in accordance with a water management or benchmarking program.
Texas A&M uses EnergyCAP software to track and tend the EUI, consumption and cost for each building. In addition, all buildings over 5,000 GS are metered for ELE, CHW, HHW, Steam, DCW and the data is available in real-time so that trends can be analyzed.
