A brief description of the method(s) used to gather data about student commuting:
An online survey was sent out to students via the Office of Sustainability website and social media that students receive daily. The survey was open for a period of 1 month. The first question inquired about the student's primary mode of commuting to campus. Participation in our survey was an accurate representative sample of the student body. Another question was about how far student's travel to campus each day. A various number of responses were recorded and we found that a total of 67.7 percent of students use a more sustainable option for commuting. Out of that percentage, 62.2 percent reported that they walk, cycle, or use other non-motorized modes of transportation to commute to campus.
