Tennessee Tech offers three continuing education courses that address sustainability. The courses include: Steam System, Pumping, and Compressed Air. The three courses fall under the category of Building Energy Systems. These courses train students in ways to make these systems more energy efficient thus reducing energy costs for their employers.

TN Tech's Extended Programs and Regional Development Department partners with several online course facilitators to provide students a variety of online programs and certificate programs for personal enrichment and professional development.
A.C.S Certification
A student in any chemistry concentration may attain certification by the American Chemical Society as determined by the Chemistry faculty. The Chemistry Department defines specific areas of certification including, but not restricted to, pure chemistry, biochemistry and environmental chemistry. The requirements for certification in these areas are outside the curricular requirements of the three major concentrations.
Senior Certified Sustainability Professional
The Senior Certified Sustainability Professional Online Training Program will prepare you for an exciting career as a leader in the green-collar economy. Upon successful completion of this program, you'll be able to: Establish and maintain a green procurement strategy, apply the principles of environmentally preferred purchasing, design for environment, eco-control systems, and sustainable business practices, identify corporate social responsibility strategies to meet organizational needs, develop and use Environmental Management System (EMS) practices, select and effectively use a variety of environmental accounting methods, improve product positioning using the green marketing-mix principles, organize and sequence carbon strategies using the World Resource Institute protocol, improve operational sustainability through greening the logistics and supply chain, plan continued organizational sustainability strategies as an internal or external consultant

Certified Green Supply Chain Professional
The Certified Green Supply Chain Professional Online Training Program will give you the specialized knowledge to enable a company to achieve its environmental sustainability goals through global sourcing, materials management, procurement and buying, transportation and logistics, and new product development.
