For monitoring and review, in the procurement system strategy aligned to ruta azul (see https://tec.mx/sites/default/files/repositorio/sentido-humano/sostenibilidad/ruta-azul/reportes/AbastoSostenible-RutaAzul.pdf), we mention that up to today, we have measured our advance regarding single use plastics reduction, waste management in our food suppliers, and green vehicle strategies, up to today, we have achieved along with our suppliers:
- Migration to electric technologies to avoid the use of gas fueled motocycles for internal use (parole), avoiding the 100% CO2 emissions.
- Hybrid vehicles migration, achieving a carbon footprint reduction up to 30%
- Along with a specific supplier, we partnered to implement a pilot of a new water dispenser with an inbuilt water treatment in order to avoid the usage of single use plastics, this led to the implementation of 230 water dispensers.
- Also, in joint effort, migration of the disposable products used in our cafeterías and food courts, to compostable disposables, eliminating 400 generic SKU.
All of this have been also monitored through our COUPA platform where all of the purchases for tec should be done and trhough that information, our procurement team, which is also part of our sustainability committees gives us the data to be followed, monitored and used for new strategies.
