6.2 Incentives for sustainability research

Does the institution provide incentives for academic staff to conduct sustainability research?:
Yes

Description of the sustainability research incentives for academic staff:

Through a joint effort by Novus and Ruta Azul, the sustainability initiative at Tecnologico de Monterrey, a new track was created for the 2023 call for proposals: "Education for Sustainable Development".

Through this collaboration, 7 projects were funded with $1.2M MXN. All participants will get mentoring and orientation for impact measurement, statistical analysis and academic writing. An academic production of at least 3 conference publications and 2 journal publications is expected from these projects.

Novus has designed an impact assessment strategy for these projects that considers both learning outcomes and impact on teaching and is complemented by measuring students' engagement towards the innovation and their sustainability index.

The Institute for the Future of Education (IFE), through the Novus initiative, seeks to drive and promote educational innovation at Tecnológico de Monterrey by providing support, mentorship, and funding for projects proposed by faculty members aimed at improving the teaching and learning process in their courses.

We encourage Tec community to submit their best ideas so that, together, we can transform education and enhance student learning.
