12.1 Number of weeks of paid maternity leave

Narrative and/or website URL providing an overview of the maternity leave options available to employees:
The Maternity Protection Acts cover the entitlements for allstaff who are pregnant, have recently given
birth, or who are breastfeeding. This is inclusive of transgender males who have obtained a gender
recognition certificate in accordance with the Gender Recognition Act 2015. All staff who commence
maternity leave are entitled to 26 consecutive weeks paid* maternity leave (Ref 1).
