Description of the process through which academic staff were involved in developing and/or adopting the methodologies used to assess sustainability literacy:

A case-study project took place to assess the effectiveness of Sulitest as a Sustainability Literacy Tool (Ref1). This found that Sulitest worked best when combined with a reflective activity for students.
Additionally, some TU Dublin staff were involved in the creation of the sulitest Ireland module which is an elective add on to the general sulitest and was launched in September 2024 (Ref2). Also TU Dublin academic staff administer the test at present.

5.2 Percentage of students assessed for sustainability literacy

Percentage of students assessed for sustainability literacy, either directly or by representative sample:
1 to 24

Description of the process used to measure or estimate the percentage of students assessed for sustainability literacy:

This percentage is based on the number of students who have completed the Sulitest.  This is typically administered in the first year of the programme.  Since 2019, nearly 5,000 people took the Sulitest. Since 2021, in the last 4 years, about 3,500 TU Dublin students have completed at least one Sulitest test. Assuming all students are full-time, the population of students that have been assessed for sustainability literacy is 3,500 FTE students out a student population of 22,841 FTE students, which is 15.3%.
