Unfortunately, despite conservation efforts, more water was consumed on the Taylor campus in 2011 than any year since 2004. This was due mostly to a particularly dry summer (4 million gallons more water used for irrigation than normal) and mechanical problems with the dining commons (5 million gallons above normal). Water use in 2011 was about 9 million gallons or 28% higher than in 2010.
