The name and a brief description of each student group focused on sustainability:
Tarleton Environmental Society - The aim of this group has been to be diverse and include as many interests and points of view as possible, while focusing on learning, hands-on experience, spreading awareness, and community service. The environmental society has organized the Bosque River Cleanup for the last three (3) years, which has attracted over 50 volunteers and removed hundreds of pounds of trash and debris from the river that runs through Stephenville City Park.
Student Wildlife Society - This student group is the Tarleton student chapter of The Wildlife Society (TWS). TWS is an international, nonprofit, scientific and educational organization comprised of nearly 9,600 members from 60 countries. TWS represents professionals and students dedicated to the sustainable management of wildlife resources and their habitats. The Student Wildlife Society: -Fosters campus and community awareness of wildlife issues -Augments the educational opportunities for students in natural resource fields -Prepares members for careers in wildlife biology, conservation, and management -Encourages professionalism and high standards of scholarship -Provides opportunities for improved communication among local members, with other student chapters, and with our state chapter.

The department of Wildlife, Sustainability & Ecosystem Sciences maintains a sustainable teaching garden on Tarleton's campus. The produce grown at the farm is used for dining events hosted on campus and in the University Dining Hall.

A brief description of conferences, speaker series, symposia or similar events related to sustainability that have students as the intended audience:
The Department of Chemistry, Geosciences & Physics hosts multiple speakers each year to address students concerning various environmental and ecological issues facing the world today. Topics include issues such as the history of dams and river awareness and the fate of pharmaceuticals in aquatic and terrestrial environments.
The Environmental Advisory Council and the Department of Risk Management & Compliance partner each year on Earth Day to share information with students, staff and faculty. Tables are hosted at high traffic areas on campus where informational materials are shared, along with free giveaways and a raffle to win sustainable items such as totes and reusable water bottles. In addition, local elementary schools come visit for sessions on recycling and environmental responsibility.
Diversity Dialogue - The office of Diversity & Inclusion hosts regularly scheduled Diversity Dialogues in which different topics related to diversity and inclusion are experienced and discussed in an effort to engage and learn more about the people, cultures, and differences in our society.
Leaders4diversity Conference - The office of Diversity & Inclusion hosts this conference. Nearly a dozen speakers and presenters give their insights about diversity. It provides opportunities to learn about culture, how to respect diversity, and diversity related opportunities for each of us in our daily lives. Upon arrival a goody bag is provided and later in the day lunch is served.

Tarleton State University's Outdoor Adventure staff promote Leave No Trace principles during outdoor activities. Students acquire knowledge about and participate in a variety of adventure activities. Development of technical, equipment, safety, activity, and leadership skills is also included.
