A brief description of the methodology the institution followed to complete the research inventory:

In order to identify faculty engaged in sustainability research, departmental personnel were surveyed and asked to self-identify based upon the he definition of “sustainability research” outlined in Standards and Terms of the STARS manual. The total number of faculty and departments engaged in research was obtained from Tarleton's Office of Faculty Research.
