Name of the institution’s featured sustainability program, initiative, or accomplishment:
Techno-Gabay Program.

A brief description of the institution’s featured program, initiative, or accomplishment:
The Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) has been extending various community extension works for so long and the impact of these to the lives of the beneficiaries has been proven beneficial. Proof to this is the relentless embracement of many individuals and institutions to the extension programs of the University. One such service is the TechnoGabay Program (TGP) wherein TAU seizes the role of becoming a benefactor to several identified institutions and farmer groups to assist them in realizing their goals.
Initiated in 2000 by the Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development (PCAARRD) of the Department of Science and
Technology (DOST), the Techno Gabay Program (TGP) aimed to promote technology dissemination and utilization guides and facilitate knowledge sharing among extension workers and farmers. TGP is implemented by 14 consortia in the Philippines, with SUCs as partner member agencies (PMA). The University adopted the program in 2006, and after more than a decade and a half of advocacy in the province of Tarlac, the university’s TGP implementation through its extension arm, the Department of Extension and Training, is still going strong. For 2020, the TAU-DET partnered with the Agricultural Training Institute-Regional Training Center III in the enhancement of Farmers Information and Technology
Services (FITS) Centers in the municipalities of Sta. Ignacia and Bamban. Regular quarterly meetings of TGP team in the province of Tarlac were also conducted through virtual
platform to monitor and assess the present status of FITS Centers and Magsasaka Siyentista activities as well as to determine the training needs of FITS staff and MS, IEC needs
and equipment needs of FITS Centers.
