Name or title of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome:
Composting for Students
A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome that outlines how credit criteria are met and any positive measurable outcomes associated with the innovation:
Students are welcome to participate in the University’s small-scale composting program, located in Pete’s Giving Garden. The program encourages students to divert their personal food scraps from the waste cycle within their residence halls and apartments. The food scraps are managed by Sustainability Management, turned into compost, and utilized in the campus garden. This is the inaugural year and we had 175 students participate in the program.
