Name or title of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome:
The Bee Orange Project

A brief description of the innovative policy, practice, program, or outcome that outlines how credit criteria are met and any positive measurable outcomes associated with the innovation:
Six honey bee hives were placed in our South Campus area in the spring and produced over 27 gallons of honey in their first season! Their contribution as a pollinator helps support one-third of the world’s food production as well as the reproduction cycle of hundreds of bee-friendly plants. This in turn benefits the local ecosystem and cultivates biodiversity.

The honey is bottled and sold in the Syracuse University Campus Store and all proceeds go back to the Bee Orange Project to maintain the bees.
