A brief description of any internal sustainability professional development and training opportunities that the institution makes available to non-academic staff:

Sustainability Management host a training seminar to various departments on campus. This year we spoke to our food services and Admissions staff about What is sustainability, how does it affect our campus, how important is it for our students and other areas covered are recycling, waste, composting and gardening.

LEED training is offered twice a year for staff who wish to pursue the training.


A brief description of any external professional development and training opportunities in sustainability that are supported by the institution :

Staff members can attend a variety of conference around sustainability, including the AASHE Conference, NYCSHE Conference, and the NYSAR3 conference.

Employees are encouraged to engage in professional development through various organizations, AASHE, APPA, National Food Services Management Institute, all of which offer sustainability training. Staff can also purse other development through e-Cornell's Food and Sustainability Certificate, Plant Based Nutrition, and Sustainable Leadership at University of Vermont and the Farm to Institute New England.
