The mission of the committee, which was active up until a few years ago, was to evaluate the actions of companies in which Swarthmore invests the funds of the endowment. The evaluations were based on the companies' compliance with the values expressed by the overwhelming majority of the college community and broadly consistent with the ideals of social responsibility in our society.

Note: The committee does not provide recommendations on corporate governance. The College's Committee on Investor Responsibility is an advisory committee providing proxy voting recommendations on shareholder resolutions addressing social issues.
