There are several professionals and offices on campus who handle diversity and equity on campus. The Center for Diversity and Inclusion, within student life, provides programs, speakers, workshops etc. for students. SU has a diversity and equity committee called IDEA and the Office of Inclusive Excellence are both university-wide. We have a faculty member who is appointed as our Teacher-in-Residence whose role includes diversity and inclusion in the classroom. In 2019, SU hired it's first Chief Inclusion and Diversity Officer to bring the topic of diversity to the highest levels of the institution.

We have an online training platform that has coursework in discrimination, diversity awareness, gender equity and sensitivity awareness. Additional seminars, speakers and workshops have been held on racism, microaggressions, and a diversity dialogue. The Center for Diversity and Inclusion holds weekly meetings open to the entire campus to discuss different topics within diversity. The university hosts a day-long teach-in in honor of MLK Jr. Day and highlights the work of faculty and staff across campus who teach about diversity. The Engaging Men Committee brings together faculty and staff with students to discuss masculinity and society's gender expectations. This is a support group to help work through toxic masculinity and build community between men. It is hosted by the SU Violence Intervention and Prevention Center. The Center for Diversity and Inclusion has a program called SU Connects which trains students of color to be mentors to other students of color on campus to offer support and guidance.
