Student Accessibility Services

The Buffalo State University Student Accessibility Services (SAS) is committed to providing access and support for students with disabilities.  We seek to develop strong self-advocacy skills and prepare students for post-collegiate experiences.  SAS strongly affirms that diversity of abilities in the university community is a source of excellence, enrichment, and strength.

Institutional Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion

The Equity and Campus Diversity Office is the official designee of the university president to ensure that the campus abides by all federal and state laws snd SUNY policies with regard to discrimination on the basis of race, sex, ethnicity, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, age, disability or marital or veteran status.

LGBTQ+ Programming and Resources

The mission of the Buffalo State University LGBTQ+ Resource Center is to provide a safe, inclusive and celebratary environment for LGBTQ+ students, faculty and Staff.

The Graduate Diversity Fellowship Program provides tuition scholarships to low-income students and students that have had to overcome adversity and have a  “commitment to diversity”

Preference will be given to candidates who are from a low-income background (e.g., Pell-eligible as undergraduates), were first-generation college students (students whose parents have not earned a bachelor's degree), have overcome adversity, are AmeriCorps alumni, or are veterans. https://suny.buffalostate.edu/graduate/funding

STUDENT VETERANS

Buffalo State University has a long history of enrolling veterans into the university community.  There is a veteran and military office to help students who are veterans with enrollment, financial aid.  In addition there is a veteran's only lounge in the Student Union. Buffalo State college is considered a Military Friendly University by Victory Media.
