The data covers the time period from 2021 to 2024. Survey of all departments conducted in Spring 2023. Updated by search of undergraduate research awards and Research Foundation awards for 2023-2024.
All research activities were coded with which UN SDG challenge(s) were being addressed.

The data includes all tenure-track faculty and staff and administrators with an expectation of conducting research and/or submitting grants were counted. Research and scholarship are required of 100% of tenure-track faculty members at Buffalo State; staff are not typically required to conduct research. However, some professional staff are located in the Research Center or in a special Academic Affairs areas who are expected to perform research.
Research is defined broadly for professional staff and includes pass-through grants to run special programs on campus or in the community.
