The data includes all tenure-track faculty and staff and administrators with an expectation of conducting research and/or submitting grants were counted. Research and scholarship are required of 100% of tenure-track faculty members at Buffalo State; staff are not typically required to conduct research. However, some professional staff are located in the Research Center or in a special Academic Affairs areas who are expected to perform research.

Research is defined broadly for professional staff and includes pass-through grants to run special programs on campus or in the community.
