A brief description of on-site renewable electricity generating devices :
Stony Brook University has a 10kW solar renewable electricity generating device (solar panels) located on the roof of the Research & Support Services Building and a 10kW solar renewable electricity generating device (window solar panels) located on the side of the Advanced Energy Center. The University also has a total of 15 bus shelters and 11 parking lot pay stations equipped with solar powered lights, for a total of 156kW.
