A brief description of the car sharing program:

The College previously had Zip Car on campus but, due to changes in car sharing industry, the College now offers discounts on Uber to support initiatives to limit the number of cars that students bring on to campus.

Science faculty members have created an informal carpooling program. The College provides preferred parking for those car share travelers.

The College has several electric car recharging stations and parking in preferential parking spaces.

Yes

A brief description of the electric vehicle recharging stations:

Electric car owners can charge their cars at 2 charging stations behind the Sports Complex and 2 charging stations behind MacPhaidin Library. Installed by Solect Energy Development, the station went live in early January 2015. There is no cost to e-car owners for using the station, which Solect underwrote. The company partnered with us on the 2.7 megawatt solar field and on solar roof installations on campus.

A brief description of the incentives or programs to encourage employees to live close to campus:

There are a limited number of on campus apartments and single family houses reserved for Holy Cross priests that work for the College. Additionally, residence directors are offered on campus apartments in the area of the campus they oversee.


Does the institution have other programs or initiatives to encourage more sustainable modes of transportation and/or reduce the impact of student and employee commuting?:
Yes

A brief description of other programs or initiatives to encourage more sustainable modes of transportation and/or reduce the impact of student and employee commuting:

Students may be escorted from one point to another within the areas normally patrolled by the Stonehill Police Department on campus. The shift supervisor may use his/her own discretion with escorts off-campus limited to a one-mile radius.

The Stonehill Shuttle is also available for trips to the airport and Quincy MBTA station, among other stops such as the South Shore Plaza mall.
