The IPM plan :
Treated turf areas consist of campus grounds and athletic fields. The athletic fields are treated differently from the campus grounds. Campus grounds are treated three times a year with a nitrogen and potassium balanced fertilizer. A pre-emergent crabgrass control is applied in April. The lawns are treated with a preventive grub application in June. The campus has past documentation on grub problems. Weed control is applied on an as needed basis depending on the growth of turf weeds. The athletic fields are treated with additional fertilizer to enhance color and growth. Facilities Management may apply different prevention applications based on past history of the fields. The College is constantly monitoring the campus grounds and athletic fields for potential problems.
