Does the institution have one or more Level 2 or Level 3 electric vehicle recharging stations that are accessible to student and employee commuters?:
Yes
None
A brief description of the electric vehicle recharging stations:
The five EV charging stations in the Babbio Center Garage are next to the entrance so they are the best spots in the garage. The other four EV charging stations are in the Howe Center Lot, which is the most centrally located parking facility on campus. In the Babbio Center Garage there are Low-Emission Vehicle (LEV) parking spaces next to the elevators and stairs. There are two LEV spaces on each of the four floors, for a total of eight.

Stevens allows some employees who work in Student Affairs to live on campus.
Does the institution have other programs or initiatives to encourage more sustainable modes of transportation and/or reduce the impact of student and employee commuting?:
Yes
A brief description of other programs or initiatives to encourage more sustainable modes of transportation and/or reduce the impact of student and employee commuting:
Stevens implemented the Going Green Commuter Club in Fall 2020. This program consisted of various incentives for employees. Employees who gave up driving in favor of transit were given $500. Employees who continued to take transit were given $100. The pandemic limited this program, but we are bringing in Luum to handle our parking management and reinvigorate the Commuter Club. Luum will allow Stevens to provide commute incentives directly through the portal.
Bike racks were recently installed in front of the new Gateway building and the Howe Center. Our bike parking supply is now at 284.
Stevens completely overhauled its shuttle service during the pandemic. Instead of a route-based system that often had empty vehicles driven for many hours a day, Stevens now has a ride-hail system that has vehicles deployed only when students and employees need rides. There are no longer empty vehicles driven around Hoboken. This is substantially better for the environment.
