A brief description of the farmers’ market:
Stetson University boasts an organic garden run by the Hatter Harvest organization. The group also sponsors a local farmer’s market. In addition to selling whatever produce is currently available the club has local vendors who also attend and sell wares. These vendors are required to sell locally produced food, plants or goods and will often have samples or demonstrations throughout the morning. The market occurs on a Sunday once a month spanning from the inception of school until the end of November and then from February until the end of spring semester. Per semester, this equates to three or four markets depending on the organizational preferences, weather and funding for that year.
