A brief description of the institution’s participation in federal TRIO programs:
Filing the FAFSA is both a Federal/State requirement. Institutions receiving federal/state funds must follow regulations on how to distribute those funds. By filing the FAFSA, eligibility for need-based funding such as a Pell grant, SEOG, FSAG, FRAG can be established. Parents and students who may feel that the financial aid award does not help cover their cost for the academic year have several options available to them to seek additional funding. These options include an Appeal, Re-evaluation, and Alternative/Private Loans. Information about these options can be referenced on our website.

Parents and students who may feel that the financial aid award does not help cover their cost for the academic year have several options available to them to seek additional funding. The offices of Financial Aid and Admissions are continuously reaching out to students (both prospective and current) to keep them informed about any changes that are taking place to the Financial Aid process and their specific financial aid information. The Financial Aid office performs entrance counseling and exit counseling; which is about educating our borrowers of all backgrounds. The Entrance Counseling goes over their right and responsibilities about borrowing under the Stafford Loan program. At the exit counseling we inform them about their responsibilities now as a graduating student and repayment options available to them.

The Office of Admission awards students base on their merit, talent and GPA. Financial Aid utilizes a unique awarding policy (awarding parameters), that guides the distribution of funds to students of various financial need; which is based on the FAFSA information. A key component on students receiving financial assistance via the federal and state governments is filing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by the deadline required for each respective academic year.
