Sterling was a founding member of the VHEFSC and its president is currently serving as its chair. For the past four years, VHEFSC has been a clearing house for collaboration across our campuses. The collaboration has included course exchange, a inter-campus summer food systems tour, and presentation at conferences. Sterling faculty and staff also regularly participate in planning and work with colleagues through VHEFSC.

Vermont Law School and Sterling College, both institutions that focus on environmental topics, have also recently signed an articulation agreement allowing students to pursue degrees at both institutions simultaneously in a 3:2 type model.
