A brief description of when and why the building energy consumption baseline was adopted:
The baseline was exactly two years from the last date of complete data.
A brief description of any building temperature standards employed by the institution:
We have an unwritten comfort implication on campus.
Apx. 68 Heating / 72 Cooling
A brief description of any light emitting diode (LED) lighting employed by the institution:
Parking lot lights, pathway lights, building overhead fixtures. As well as ambient lighting.
A brief description of any occupancy and/or vacancy sensors employed by the institution:
Occupancy sensors are employed in classrooms, hallways, & some stairwells. We also have energy management controls based on predetermined, editable schedules.
A brief description of any passive solar heating employed by the institution:
We have a passive evacuated tube system in our athletic facility capable of delivering 85 MMBtu's annually to heat domestic water and reheat for the building.
A brief description of any ground-source heat pumps employed by the institution:
N/A
A brief description of any cogeneration technologies employed by the institution:
We have a 10,000 watt, grid tied, solar panel system in the athletic facility.
A brief description of any building recommissioning or retrofit program employed by the institution:
We are actively involved in an ongoing commissioning & retro-commissioning process here on campus.
A brief description of any energy metering and management systems employed by the institution:
We have electric sub-meters in 10 of our buildings, & gas sub-meters in 3. We also have an energy management system with the capacity to control consumption based on demand response.
A brief description of the institution's program to replace energy-consuming appliances, equipment and systems with high efficiency alternatives:
We follow the State initiative to update & convert all "inefficient" equipment & mechanicals with energy efficient alternatives.
A brief description of any energy-efficient landscape design initiatives employed by the institution:
Our facility & Capital engineers consider all opportunities for environmental optimization of building mechanical & architectural design.
A brief description of any vending machine sensors, lightless machines, or LED-lit machines employed by the institution:
The expectation of all third party vendors & service companies is that of optimal energy efficiency strategies & procedures.
A brief description of other energy conservation and efficiency initiatives employed by the institution:
The most energy & cost efficient equipment & supplies that are proven reliable with proven ROI data are consistently reviewed, considered & employed.
