A brief description of the green building guidelines or policies and/or a list or sample of buildings covered:
New York State (NYS) Executive Order No. 88 “Build Smart NY,” signed by Governor Cuomo in 2012, has several green requirements for all State agencies, including an increase energy efficiency by 20% in by 2020. NYS has a LEED silver design standard embedded in the SUNY Construction Fund Program Directives (2013) and the SUNY Energy and Sustainability Plan (2007).

A brief description of how the institution ensures compliance with green building design and construction guidelines and policies:
The EO 88, SUCF Program Directives, and SUNY Energy and Sustainability Plan guidelines are all part of the design team's considerations during the design phase. Each phase of design is reviewed by University personnel to ensure compliance with guidelines. Submittals, change orders, and substitution requests are reviewed by University personnel during construction to ensure changes do not adversely impact compliance.
