Major campus-wide, annual celebrations include Opening Weekend,
Convocation, Fall Fest/Parents Weekend, and Apocalypse Week. These events have been developed and refined over the past few years in an effort to build a more student-centered community. The convocation program has been revitalized in the past few years and it’s annual theme is carried throughout the academic year. For example, the 2008 theme was Sustainability.

Resident students competed in Campus Conservation Nationals residence hall energy and water challenge (April 2012, 2013, 2014).
Dark Green Days powerdown events were promoted on student announcement blogs (2012, 2013, 2014).
Students, staff, and faculty had the opportunity to make pledges and participate in EcoChallenge Energy Efficiency and Waste Reduction challenges (October 2012, 2013, 2014).
