Some key charges of ESF's Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) Department include: proper employee training – both initial and refresher; laboratory safety training for faculty and students; workplace inspections – this includes laboratory staff/students, PP personnel, and outside contractors; and incident reporting and investigations.
In addition, the College has many formalized policies: Hazard Communication, Bloodborne Pathogens, Asbestos Awareness, Lock out/Tag out, Fire Safety and Evacuation, Hazardous Waste Management, Emergency Response; Fire Extinguisher Use, Hot Work, Ladder Safety, Personal Protective Equipment, Confined Space, Silica Standard, Boat Use Safety, Universal Waste Management (Bulbs, Batteries)
