A brief description of the sustainable operations and maintenance policy/program and/or O+M rating system(s) used:

Baker Labs is designed to LEED Silver and ESF operates to design intent from an energy and water standpoint. The same applies to the Gateway Center. All of the other building are operated to design intent (energy).

ESF addresses energy and water efficiency use in our buildings. The College is not ISO 50001 certified or SEP (Superior Energy Performance) certified, but does follow New York State Executive Order 88 (EO-88) and is currently utilizing Build Smart 2025 for guidance.

All custodial operations at the Syracuse campus meet the College's Green Cleaning Policy (75% of cleaning products by cost, 90% of disposable paper products and trash bags by cost, and 40% of equipment by cost are third party verified.

All buildings at the Syracuse campus contain trash, recycling, and compost bins on every floor of every building. All offices are equipped with 1.15 gallon linerless mini trash bins. The College is systematically identifying and removing/replacing single use (predominantly plastics) products on campus with more durable alternatives.

The Ranger School collects recycling in student spaces, offices and classrooms. Electronic items and used oil are collected and recycled. The kitchen also composts food waste. ECDC staff at the Syracuse campuses have recently performed controls optimization and are performing real time energy management at the Ranger's Schools Main Building. These energy savings are verifiable in EnergyCAP. Staff have also recently gained access to the building management system (BMS) and implemented set point changes and equipment schedules.
