ESF offers ongoing training seminars in a variety of sustainability topics for its employees.

For example, members of the College's Operations and Energy Conservation Development and Controls teams took part in the Urban Green Council's GPRO training in 2019. GPRO is a comprehensive national training and certificate program developed by Urban Green Council. The program teaches the principles of sustainability and trade-specific green construction knowledge to people who build, renovate and maintain buildings.

Many ESF faculty and staff members regularly attend conferences related to sustainability that provide trainings. Examples include: GreenNY webinars, Association of Physical Plant Administrators (APPA), USGBC Green Building Conferences, AASHE Global Conference on Sustainability in Higher Education, NYSAR3's Annual Recycling Conference, and National Recycling Coalition's Zero Waste Conference, Certified Building Commissioning Professional (training and certification), membership to Association of Energy Engineers, Certified Professional Maintenance Manager (training and credential) through the Association of Facilities Engineers and LEED credentials
