Yes
A brief description of how the institution engages in public policy advocacy for sustainability at the municipal/local level:
During the 2022-2023 school year, Purchase College responded in opposition to a FEMA storm water grant that was proposed by towns neighboring the college to help reduce flooding. The grant proposed building berms into an area of contiguous old growth forest located on Purchase property. Campus community members produced a petition, held a town hall, and our president wrote a letter to FEMA in opposition to the grant to protect the forested land.
