The mission of the Sustainability Committee at Purchase College is to be a task-oriented committee in which members facilitate sustainability-related projects/initiatives. The Committee also seeks to engage with other green student organizations on campus to support and provide guidance on events, projects and initiatives.

The Sustainability Committee and the Sustainability Coordinator has been active in the Green Fee committee in approving proposals for green initiatives and providing support and resources to bring the proposals to action. Some of the permanent and successful accomplishments include installing an on-campus composter, establishing a student-run thrift store, implementing a student furniture re-use center, providing faculty/staff with a local produce delivery program, creation of a water bottle refill station map, and significant outreach to various student groups, summer rentals, offices and departments

Deliver quality customer service by understanding customer needs and working to exceed expectations. The Sustainability Coordinator will act as point of contact for all sustainability related needs and will demonstrate a positive, enthusiastic, and flexible attitude towards internal and external stakeholders. The College’s ideal Coordinator will wear multiple hats, including, but not limited to managing sustainability related reporting, providing sustainability communications as well as outreach and coordination on existing and new sustainability initiatives.
